The city of Dijon will hold an extraordinary municipal council on Monday, February 1, dedicated to the Covid-19 crisis. The prefect and the director of the ARS will be present. On the agenda, new economic support measures while a re-containment could be announced in the coming days.

Dijon city councilors will meet exceptionally this Monday, February 1. The town hall has just announced the holding of an extraordinary municipal council dedicated to Covid-19. The regional prefect Fabien Sudry and the director general of the Regional Health Agency, Pierre Pribile, will be present. They should present a new point on the health situation.

Why such a meeting? “Because François Resbamen wanted to organize an extraordinary municipal council to inform municipal councilors about the health situation and through them the people of Dijon” one explains on the side of the town hall.

On the agenda: a report on the health situation but also two deliberations. They will relate in particular to new economic measures linked to the health situation.

The city council of the reconfinement?

The announcement of the holding of this council comes when a possible tightening of health measures is expected in the coming days. This Thursday, January 28, government spokesman Gabriel Attal explained that 4 scenarios were possible. Maintaining current measures judged “unlikely” to containment “very tight”.

“I understand the position of the President of the Republic and the hesitations” explained the mayor of Dijon (PS) François Rebsamen. “There is really today, and we feel it on the ground, a problem of sustainability of the measures with the French. He is right to take his time to study the measure according to the medical elements which are transmitted to him.”

The meeting of February 1 will be held in the city of Dijon metropolis so as to maintain respect for social distancing between elected officials.
