In the first period, the offensive players of Poprad were more active, but the home team showed better shooting efficiency. They did not collect Zagrapan and Svitan’s promising chances and took the lead in the 11th minute. Kolusz pulled out Lalancette in the middle zone, which after a short escape overcame Vošvrda – 1: 0.

The home side’s Korhonen came close to extending the lead 24 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but Váčvrda managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 29 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving Haščák to Drgoň completely unmarked. However, when the guests got a numerous advantage of two players after Mihálik’s foul, Skokan took advantage of Svitan’s pass – 1: 1. The visitors increased the lead, they gained more confidence and in the 36th minute they were already leading when Skokan again shot Tomek – 1: 2.

The introduction of the third part brought power-ups for both teams, but without changing the score. The players of Michalovce tried to equalize in it, they significantly added to the activity and also received a goal reward. In the 50th minute, Regenda did not even equal in a promising chance, but Erkinjuntti shot Vošvrda two minutes later – 2: 2. At the end of the third period, the home team had more of the game, but Poprad also had several chances, but the score did not change in the regular playing time.

The extension lasted only less than two minutes. After Tavi’s shot, Livingston got to the rebounded puck and beat Tomek up close – 2: 3.
