Extortion in the name of the clan against an entrepreneur from Agro nocerino: three arrests. The military of the Carabinieri Group of Annunziata Tower they executed an order for the application of a personal precautionary measure of custody in prison issued by the investigating judge at the Court of Salernoat the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office – District Anti-Mafia Directorate, against Francesco Sorrentino (born 4.10.1974), Gioacchino Fontanella (born 4.8.1967) and Nicola Mendola (born 29.05.1972), investigated, in conjunction with each other, for attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods and purposes of having facilitated the Camorra association of “Fountain”operating in the area of Saint Anthony the Abbot.

The measure was carried out in the prisons of Spoleto, Naples – Secondigliano e Salernowhere the suspects were already detained. This all stems from an investigation conducted by the Torre Annunziata Investigative Unit, following the complaint filed by a local businessman, which has allowed us to reconstruct, at present, that the three suspects attempted to extort from the complainant the sum between 50.000 – 250.000 eurothreatening him verbally and repeatedly at the company headquarters. The criminal action would have been carried out with mafia methods and with the aim of imposing and increasing the criminal prestige of the “Fontanella” clan, operating in the territory.
