Extinction Rebellion Successfully Disrupts Traffic on A12 in The Hague, Leading to Arrests | Latest Update on Fossil Subsidy Phase-out Scenarios

From September 9 to October 5, supporters of Extinction Rebellion blocked the A12 in The Hague every day around noon. Hundreds of demonstrators were often arrested.

They have not been on the streets since last week, because a motion was submitted in the House of Representatives – comparable to the Chamber of Representatives in Belgium. As a result, scenarios will be devised for the phasing out of fossil subsidies (financial benefits for companies, for example a reduction in VAT on petrol, ed.).
