The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sofia (MFA) calls on Bulgarian citizens living in Iran to leave the country immediately due to the escalation of tensions in the Middle East region. This was reported by the “Situation Center” directorate to the department.

Bulgarian citizens on the territory of Iran should strictly adhere to the security instructions of the local authorities, as well as regularly inform themselves about the situation, avoid places that represent military sites or where events related to the gathering of many people are held.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends that citizens of Bulgaria, who are in the territory of Iran, report their location and planned length of stay as quickly as possible to the telephone numbers of the embassy, ​​as well as to the e-mail address of the Consular Service in Tehran: [email protected].

Currently, there are the following options for traveling to the Republic of Bulgaria:

– through the land borders with the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Armenia. The land border with the Republic of Azerbaijan remains closed.

The above opportunities are not organized and coordinated by the embassy of our country in Tehran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifies.
