– A person has been charged with murder and we have wanted the person internationally, says Cecilie Pedersen in a press release.
The police are investigating the case extensively.
– The police are still working on the basis of several hypotheses. For the police, it is now important to convey that a charge in a criminal case does not mean that the person in question is the perpetrator. We are still keeping all possibilities open and we do not rule out that there may be other or more perpetrators, says Pedersen.
Furthermore, the police write that forensic technicians have been working at the scene throughout the night, and that the investigations will continue in the coming days.
– The police are now investigating the case with great resources. We are now concerned with finding out as soon as possible what has happened and why this has happened. We have a low threshold for investigating tips. There will therefore still be visible activity from the police related to this case, says Pedersen.
It was on Wednesday that a woman and her eight-year-old daughter were found murdered in Kristiansand. The police will brief the press about the investigation into the double murder in Kristiansand at 10.30am today.
