Extensive celebrations in Britain to mark 70th anniversary of Elizabeth’s ascension / Day

Buckingham Palace announced Monday that a street party, a concert with the world’s “biggest entertainment stars” and a tour of the queen’s estate will take place this year to mark the Queen’s platinum anniversary.

The celebrations will culminate on June 2-5, when there will be four holidays in the UK.

The platinum anniversary celebrations begin on Monday, when a new pudding recipe in honor of Elizabeth II will be developed at the chefs’ competition. The winning recipe will be made public and the pudding will be served at the Big Anniversary Lunch during the June holidays.

The competition of chefs to create new recipes is a royal tradition, for example, in 1953, the coronation of Elizabeth II was made Coronation Chicken recipe.

On May 12-15, more than 500 horses and 1,000 artists will perform in an hour-and-a-half-hour show at Windsor Castle, taking the audience through from the reign of Queen Elizabeth I to the present day.

A traditional military parade is scheduled for June 2 Trooping the Colour, which has not occurred in full in the last two years due to a pandemic.

On June 3, a Thanksgiving service will be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral in honor of the Queen’s reign.

On June 4, a concert with famous artists will take place at Buckingham Palace. The participants of the concert have not been announced yet, but in February the British people will be able to apply for tickets to the event.

On June 5, all British people are invited to take part in the Great Anniversary Lunch, as well as street parties and other events. Already, 1,400 people have applied to organize a festive lunch.

Three exhibitions on the Queen’s Way to the Throne, Coronation and Anniversaries will open in July at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Hollywood House. The exhibitions will feature portraits as well as jewelry and costumes from historical events.

On February 6, Elizabeth II will become the first British monarch to reach the platinum anniversary or have spent 70 years on the throne. Queen Victoria spent 63 years on the throne. King XIV of France and Navarre, who was 72 years and 110 days on the throne in the 18th century, has been the longest on the throne in the history of the world.

The Queen’s gold and diamond anniversary celebrations also culminated in the first week of June to give the public a chance to enjoy the good weather and festivities.

It is not yet clear how many events will be attended by the 95-year-old queen, who was advised to rest for several weeks after a night in the hospital in October. This will be the first celebration the Queen will spend with her longtime husband, Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Philip died last year at the age of 99.

Many of the anniversary events are expected to be attended by members of the British royal family, including heir to the throne, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camille.

The Queen’s estates in Sandringham and Balmoral will be open to the public during the Platinum Anniversary celebrations in June.

People are also invited to plant a tree in honor of the Queen’s anniversary, but students can create works on a theme of hope.

Elizabeth II usually spends his time ascending the throne privately 175 miles north of London on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, where her father, King George VI, died of lung cancer on February 6, 1952.

The previous anniversaries of Elizabeth II were celebrated in 1977, when, after 25 years on the throne, Britain celebrated its silver anniversary with extensive celebrations in the streets and the Queen went on a world tour. The 2012 anniversary was celebrated in 2012 with a glorious parade on the River Thames in London.

In 2017, the sapphire or 65th anniversary was celebrated with ceremonial cannon shells in central London, the Tower of London and elsewhere in Great Britain, as well as parades in London, where World War I artillery weapons were pulled by horses.

Elizabeth II became queen at the age of 25. The coronation took place on June 2, 1953.

In September 2015, she overtook Queen Victoria to become Britain’s longest-serving monarch. In recent years, she has increasingly transferred responsibilities to younger family members, although she herself is involved in various activities, despite her respectable age.

At Christmas, she delivered a traditional television address highlighting the loss of Prince Philip. He died last April, two months before his 100th birthday. They had been married for 73 years.
