SECCA – Extension until November 15 of the drought decrees in the Var.

The situation of the rivers currently remains very fragile. The latest accumulations of rain have not improved the flow or recharged the aquifers. Weather forecasts to date do not suggest a turnaround in the short term.
The drought decrees, after consulting the Water Resources Commission (CRE), are extended until November 15, 2022 to all areas of the Var department, except for the neighboring areas that concern Durance, Mount Huveaune and Mount Arc, where they are renewed until 1 December, with a measure coordinated with the Bouches-du-Rhône department.

Remembrance of the drought measures in the Var

96 municipalities are in a drought crisis.
14 municipalities of the Var department are in ADVANCED ALERT.
43 municipalities are on drought alert.

Drought crisis situation:

The Gapeau area is experiencing a drought crisis for 15 municipalities
The Argens area is experiencing a drought crisis for 70 municipalities
In coordination with the Bouches-du-Rhône department, the area upstream of Huveaune is experiencing a drought crisis in 2 municipalities.
In coordination with the department of the Maritime Alps, the area upstream of Siagne is in a situation of drought crisis for 9 municipalities.

Improved drought alert situation:

The area upstream of the Arco is placed on increased drought alert for 2 municipalities
The Artuby-Jabron area is placed on enhanced drought alert for 9 municipalities
The Durance area is on drought alert for 3 municipalities.

Drought alert situation:

The Verdon area is on drought alert for 11 municipalities
The west coast river zone is on drought alert for 17 municipalities
The Giscle-Môle area is on drought alert for 14 municipalities.
In coordination with the Alpes-Maritimes department, the municipality of Tanneron in the area downstream of Siagne is on alert for drought.
