Extension of line 14: Ile-de-France residents invited to choose the name of 4 new stations

From this Monday, June 20 and until Monday, July 4, Ile-de-France residents are invited to choose the name of 4 new stations on line 14 of the metro, currently under construction. Among them, 3 will see the light of day in the south of Paris, and another in the north of Paris.

Stations to name. “Four future stations on metro line 14, at Kremlin-Bicêtre (on the edge of Gentilly), at Villejuif and at the junction between L’Haÿ-les-Roses, Villejuif and Chevilly-la-Rue and finally, at Saint -Denis… And a mission for you: choose their name!”, challenges Ile-de-France Mobilités, the organizing authority for public transport in the region, which is inviting Ile-de-France residents today and for a fortnight to choose the name of these 4 new stations under construction.

A multi-choice questionnaire

On the dedicated site https://je-choisis-le-nom-des-stations.iledefrance-mobilites.fr/Ile-de-France residents will therefore be able to find a questionnaire on which several choices will be offered.

For example, for the future Saint-Denis Pleyel station, IDFM offers 4 choices to users: that of keeping the name “Saint-Denis-Pleyel”, or “Carrefour Pleyel” from the name of the station on line 13 located at proximity, or “Ignace Pleyel”, named after the musician and composer.

“We, Ile-de-France Mobilités, believe that the name of each station must be defined with the users, because they are the ones who know their territory best and the districts in which these stations will be located”, explains the organizing authority. transportation in a press release.

Porte de Clichy station opened to the public on Thursday 28 January.

Eventually, the extension of line 14 to the south of Paris will connect the Olympiades station to the new terminus at Orly Airport in just sixteen minutes. Seven new stations will open by 2024, to transport 250,000 to 300,000 additional passengers every day.

Same scenario for the extension to the north of Paris, towards the future Saint-Denis-Pleyel station, which will be an important hub and nerve center of the Grand Paris Express. It will thus become the new terminus of line 14 to the north, thus replacing the current terminus of the Town Hall of Saint-Ouen.
