Extended Closure of Terminal 1 AirTrain Station: Alternate Transportation Options for Air France Travelers

alcar July 15, 2023, 5:27 am #1

Bonjour,

Air France warns me that the Airtrain will not be accessible during our trip to New York (5 people), next week.
How to do ? A taxi ?
Subsidiary question, for the return, how to organize? Guess I can’t take any taxi at 5 with luggage.
Thanks for your help

Extended closure of the Terminal 1 AirTrain station

On or around May 1, 2023, the closure of the Terminal 1 AirTrain station will be extended to allow construction of the new Terminal 1 to continue safely. This closure is expected to last approximately eight months.

During this time, a free shuttle service will depart from Terminal 8 and take passengers to Terminal 1. Customer Service Agents will be available to assist with directions and baggage handling. Please allow more time for your trip.

Changes made during the closure:

The shuttle route will begin at Terminal 8 and the shuttle will connect to and from Terminal 1. The AirTrain Jamaica and Howard Beach lines will continue to serve Terminals 4, 5, 7, 8, Lefferts Blvd. and Federal Circle. Signs will be installed to inform customers and the airport community of the changes and allow them to find their way during the closure. Customer service agents will be positioned at key locations in Terminals 1 and 8 to help travelers find their destination. Customer assistance will be available at each bus stop to help travelers find and access the shuttle service as well as manage luggage as needed.

If you plan to go to the airport by car, we recommend that you check if parking spaces are available and book before you move. Not only will you have a guaranteed parking space, but you will also save money!
