A man in his 50s died in a road accident outside Mariefred on Sunday. According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, he is a well-known presenter.
The Espresso writes that the man was in a car that collided with a truck, a little later on Sunday.
Police later confirmed that he was dead and that his next of kin had been notified.
The two people aboard the truck were taken to hospital for tests and the road was closed for several hours.
“The road accident was a violent collision between a car and a truck. Three people were hit”, write the carabinieri on their websiteand then:
“Both vehicles have been seized and will be examined by the scientific police”.
Police said they are investigating the crash as the cause of another person’s death, but that no one is suspected of anything criminal.
– We don’t have the information about what exactly happened, but that’s what we are trying to investigate now, says Priya G Eklund, spokeswoman for the police in the eastern region, according to Expressen.
The first information to the rescuers was that a taxi and a truck would have been involved in the accident.
– From what I have since understood, it was concluded that it was a passenger car, says Eklund.
