Guinness gave Jessi Combs the record for the fastest woman in the world in a car. Jessi, a native of South Dakota, died in 2019, just as she was preparing to break the record.
The famous book says that, reaching an impressive 841.338 kilometers per hour, Jessi beat Kitty O’Neil’s time in 1976 (821.89 km / h). Combs was the first woman to even attempt it in over 40 years.
The race against time took place in August 2019, in a jet car, in the Alvord Desert, in Southeast Oregon. Jessi was 39 years old. After starting his career as a hot-rod car manufacturer, Combs participated in several television programs dedicated to automobiles, but not only.
