The police in Stavanger receive assistance from the bomb squad in Oslo after the discovery of explosives in a forest clearing on Sunde.
– We were informed that explosives had been found, and received assistance from the bomb squad to detonate them, says operations manager Brit Randulff to VG.
She says there is no drama, and a completely normal mission for the police.
– As a rule, it is old dynamite that people have had in the house. But we need assistance to detonate it. This is something that happens almost weekly.
At 02:00, the police in Sør-Vest wrote that the bomb squad detonated the explosives on a nearby field.
She says there is nothing dangerous for the local population, and says the police have no theory as to where it is coming from.
A tipster VG has spoken to says that children often play in the area where the discovery was made, but the operations manager has no information about that. It was he who discovered the explosives on a walk with the dog, and alerted the police.
– It was found in a forest clearing, says Randulff.
