Wuling Air ev immediately became one of the idols in the electric vehicle segment in the country. Orders for this tiny electric car even exploded, so Wuling had to increase its production capacity.
As explained by Wuling Motors Brand & Marketing Director, Dian Asmahani, up to October 2022 Wuling has distributed 2,800 units of Air ev to customers. Meanwhile, the number of Air ev Vehicle Order Letters (SPK) is already above 5,000 SPK.
“From 5,000 SPK, 2,800 have started to be sent and will continue to grow,” Dian told reporters at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), Ancol, Jakarta, Thursday (11/03/2022).
“And because we want consumers to be able to get Air EV units faster, our production capacity is also being adjusted so that delivery to consumers is faster,” continued Dian.
Dian did not explain how much the increase in the production capacity of Air ev. But he did provide an overview of the units that had been sent. According to Dian, the number of Wuling shipments in October increased rapidly compared to September.
“The point is that in the first month we shipped 800. Yesterday we shipped 1,800. And this month we will see how it will be,” explained Dian, explaining that the Long Range model was the most ordered by Air ev consumers, with a percentage 90%.
Currently, Wuling Air ev is marketed in three types, Standard Range Rp. 238 million, Long Range Rp. 295 million and Long Range with Charging Pile Rp. 311 million. For consumers who order Air ev it now takes about two months.
Wuling itself aims to produce 10,000 units of Air ev per year. Air ev is Wuling’s first electric car product made in Indonesia.
