Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A big explosion occurred in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Thursday (8/7/2021). In fact, the explosion had made a number of buildings shake.
media office Dubai Media Office as reported AFP said three residents in the area around the explosion reported that their windows and doors had been shaken. “I lived here for 15 yearsb and first time seeing and hearing this,” said a Marina Dubai resident.
The explosion occurred as a result of a fire on a container ship in Dubai’s main port, Jebel Ali. Three of the 130 containers that caught fire on the ship contained flammable materials.
It said that there were 14 crew members on board the ship. Local journalists said special helicopters were deployed to help put out the fire and the port area was heavily guarded.
“I was outside on my balcony. My friend saw something yellow coming like the sun. I took a picture and after that there was a sound (explosion),” said another witness who was nearby.
Meanwhile, local authorities reported that the fire was under control. There were no casualties in this incident.
“The fire caused by the explosion in the container on board the ship at Jebel Ali Port has been brought under control. No casualties have been reported,” it wrote. Dubai Media Office in twitter.
