Russian employees Main Intelligence Directorate – This is a trained special forces, which is trained in techniques, conspiracy, obfuscation and carries out various orders of the authorities abroad. But the spies Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov (they are officers of the secret unit of the GRU 29155 Anatoly Chepiga and Alexander Mishkin) did not manage to remain unnoticed. First, they became famous when a former Russian intelligence officer was poisoned. Sergey Skripal and his daughter in British Salisbury, now it became known that they may be involved in explosion of ammunition depots in the east of the Czech Republic October 16, 2014.
What these notorious Russians were doing in the Czech Republic, and where they could have been exiled after being exposed, in an interview OBOZREVATEL said the oppositionist and former FSB colonel Gennady Gudkov… Below is his direct speech.
On the data of the Czech intelligence regarding the Russian GRUs
From the point of view of the information from which the Czech government came out to the world community, these are the materials of the special services. It has not yet been established that Boshirov-Ivanov, aka Chepiga and Mishkin, could have been involved in this explosion. But the logic puzzle is taking shape.
There was a group of GRU officers who were in charge of military operations abroad. These are Skripal’s poisoning, surveillance of the World Organization for Doping Control, Gebrev’s poisoning in Bulgaria (Bulgarian businessman Emelyan Gebrev, owner of the Emko company, specializing in the export of weapons, was poisoned on April 28, 2015 in Sofia. – Ed.), Where they came twice. Now Bellingcat are investigating the movement of the GRU officers, where they could have been and which cells to get into. It is clear that they did not travel under their own names, documents, coverings, etc. were changed. Now he is Petrov, then Mishkin, then someone else.
According to the Czechs, the cameras were caught by people identified as Petrov and Boshirov, who were involved in the poisoning of the Skripals. This is already from the materials of the British investigation.
Why was it necessary to undermine the ammunition depot
The ammunition depot in the Czech Republic was supposed to be sold to Ukraine, but not directly, but through Bulgaria. And in Bulgaria, the poisoned Gebrev was also involved in the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Who, by the way, twice suffered assassination attempts and miraculously survived. It is very likely that this could be a single operation to prevent the supply of ammunition to Ukraine.
Grushniki believed that they were defending their homeland from external aggression and thus fighting enemies. I think the likelihood of this version is high. Petrov and Boshirov completely disgraced themselves and failed on the screens Russia Today (I mean their interview with the editor-in-chief of the channel, Margarita Simonyan. – Ed.), after which no one had any doubts that they were GRU officers performing tasks to eliminate political opponents and capable of other hostilities.
The version of the Czech government is very serious and worthy of attention. The report that they will provide NATO and the European community, will form a certain point of view. A number of European leaders have already supported the Czech Republic on this issue. In a number of countries, concrete actions have already begun against the Russian presence of the special services. And what 18 Russian diplomats were expelled from the Czech Republic, it is clear that some of them were involved in intelligence activities of various subversive nature.
I think, the Kremlin’s political leadership has lost its relevance and does not understand in what world and in what situation he is. And this saber-rattling will not be good for this regime. All revolutions in Russia took place either during or immediately after the war.
Why the Czech president, who is considered a pro-Russian sympathizer, dared to make a diplomatic demarche
For the Czechs, there is no doubt about the involvement of the “Bears and Chepigs” in the sabotage and terrorist operation. They are sure of this and they have nowhere to go. It is one thing to assess Russia’s actions that are not related to crime, and another thing when there is clear crime and subversive work.
The Czech Republic and Russia are not in a state of war and confrontation. We have normal relations, trade cooperation. And generally speaking The Czech Republic is a rather peaceful country. It was hard for them to expect such a mean thing from Russia.… I think that Zeman spoke differently now.
Is the Russian GRU to undermine, eliminate, kill, liquidate?
This is a trained special forces, which is trained in techniques, conspiracy, and obfuscation. As it turned out, these people are engaged in combat work abroad. They do not require great skills, brilliant combinations, recruiting actions. They come with specific tasks and carry out. And then the question of the bosses is already – how they were encrypted, how the approach and departure was ensured, how the operation was planned. This is not their task.
Of course, Boshirov and Petrov were not allowed to go to Russia Today, it was a terrible disgrace that Russia had not experienced for a long time. But from the point of view of narrow specialization – they acted as best they could – with orders, their views and beliefs.
Are “Petrov and Boshirov” still alive?
I think nothing bad and terrible happened to them. They are somewhere in some dusty job, maybe they teach, train, transfer experience. I do not think that someone will deal with them. On the contrary, they will be awarded and honored. If God forbid, something happens, it will become known to all the officers of the special services and this will become a serious lesson for everyone. It is in the interests of political power and leadership to surround them with honor, risk-free work, to protect witnesses under the program, and to make them heroic patriots.
