In the context, Hezbollah issued the following statement: “The Zionist occupation forces recently took dangerous measures in the northern part of the border town of Ghajar, which is the Lebanese part that is recognized by the United Nations as part of Lebanese territory. These measures consisted of establishing a barbed wire fence and building a cement wall around the entire town, similar to what they are doing on the border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine, which separated this village from its natural and historical surroundings within the Lebanese territory, and the occupation forces imposed their authority completely on the two parts. The statement added: “These dangerous measures and major development are the complete occupation of the Lebanese part of the town of Ghajar by force of arms, and the imposition of a fait accompli there. In view of this dangerous development, we call on the Lebanese state with all its institutions, especially the Lebanese government, and we also call on the Lebanese people, with all their political and civil forces, to take action, to prevent the establishment of this occupation and to cancel the aggressive measures that it took, and to work to liberate this part of our land and return it to Home.
