Explosions in Luhansk and Mariupol raise questions about conflict escalation

On Saturday morning, the explosion apparently occurred in the area of ​​the village of Juvileine near the western outskirts of Luhansk. As a result of the explosion, the windows of houses in the neighborhood were broken, according to social network users.

For now, there is no more precise information about what exactly exploded and whether it was an attack from the Ukrainian side.

Also on Friday, two powerful explosions rocked Luhansk. The representatives of the occupiers claimed that it was a missile attack by the Ukrainian army.

It is about 90 kilometers from the western outskirts of Luhansk to the nearest point of the front.

The mayor’s advisor, Petro Andryushchenko, also reports on the explosions in Mariupol.

According to his information, there were two strong explosions.

“A second strong explosion. Heard in all districts of the city. This time, the epicenter was on the Azovstal side,” the official said.

Local residents say that they saw a rocket coming from the direction of Volnovakha, however, this information has yet to be confirmed, added Andryushchenko.
