Endless tragedies in the Balkans. After the ominous accident with a Macedonian bus in our country this morning, at 15:15 powerful explosions shook Serbia.
Several powerful explosions terrified people in the area of Buban Potok, Belgrade, the Novosti newspaper reported, quoted by BTA.
According to TV Prva and Radio B92, two people died.
“Novosti” writes that rocket fuel exploded in the workshops of the factory for special production “Edepro”, where anti-hail missiles are made.
Citizens reported that the ground shook and a huge cloud of smoke rose over the site of the explosion.
According to unconfirmed official information, there were three explosions. At the time of the explosion, there were about 100 workers in the factory, whose fate is still unknown.
There is no access to the factory where rescue teams were sent. Part of the road to the factory has collapsed, traffic is blocked, the newspaper added.
The Blitz newspaper, in turn, reported that ambulances with sirens were leaving the area of the factory and it is assumed that there were more injured. A “huge number” of police officers were sent to the scene, the newspaper added.
Nine fire trucks with 36 firefighters were sent, Serbian state television RTS reported.
