The incident occurred on Monday, February 12, in the city of Gothenburg. A series of explosions was preceded by a fire. It is known that 12 people were injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started around 10:00 local time. At the same time, almost immediately an explosion occurred in one of the water park structures. Rescuers warn of the possibility of the fire spreading to neighboring buildings. A nearby hotel and office space were evacuated.
“There’s a lot of plastic in the structure. So (the smoke) is unhealthy to breathe in. That’s why we’re coming out with a health warning,” Swedish rescue spokesman Klass Luppert said.
Eyewitnesses say the explosion at the water park was so strong that it was felt in neighboring buildings. It is also known that at least 12 people were injured as a result of the fire.
The Oceana water park was scheduled to open this summer and cost 1.2 billion kronor ($10.6 million) to build. It occupies 6,000 square meters indoors and 4,000 outdoors – there should be 14 water attractions. It was planned that it could accommodate 1,750 people.
On January 13, a fire occurred in one of the shopping centers in Kyiv. The visitors had to be evacuated. A fire occurred in the Solomensky district of the capital in the Cosmopolitan shopping center.
And on January 10 in Kyiv there was a strong fire at a car wash located on Bereznyaki. The police even regulated traffic in the emergency area.
