Explosions and Fire at Electrical Substations Leave Hundreds Without Power in Vladivostok, Russia

According to local residents, substations on Novozhilov and Bukhta Tikhaya are burning. There is no light in a number of houses.

Media reports that more than 250 houses were left without electricity on Tikhaya Bay.

According to the energy company, at about 19:00 (11:00 Kyiv time) two transformers were disconnected at the Zagorodnaya substation in the Borisenko area. A fire was detected in a closed switchgear; there were no transformer fires.

A brigade of power engineers and a fire brigade from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene.
