Explosion in Sassenheim, several houses damaged

The houses next to the houses that are on fire have been evacuated. The fire brigade tries to save the houses adjacent to the houses that are on fire.

There are large clouds of smoke to be seen from Alphen aan den Rijn, Voorhout and Hoogmade, among others. The fire brigade is calling on people not to come to Westerstraat. The fire brigade also advises local residents to close windows and doors and turn off the ventilation.

The trauma helicopter has also arrived on the scene.
