24 hours after the explosion which caused the collapse of a building on rue Saint-Jacques in the 5th arrondissement, the firefighters of Paris remain mobilized. The perimeter is still cordoned off in an attempt to find a missing person.
The profile of the latter begins to take shape, while drones equipped with thermal cameras try to locate it. According to information from France 3 Paris, it would be a 57-year-old woman, who has been teaching sewing for 20 years at the American fashion school whose building collapsed.
According to the woman’s nephew, the teacher was present in the premises at the time of the explosion, although she was not supposed to be working there that day. A version confirmed by one of the victims, who was with her this Wednesday afternoon. Since then, this woman has given no sign of life and remains untraceable.
The results of this explosion so far show 37 people physically injured, including six in absolute emergency. Among them is the headmaster of the school. They are currently being cared for in Saint-Louis, Pitié Salpêtrière and HIA Percy de Clamart hospitals, according to France 3 Paris.
