An explosion was heard in an area of the capital Ukraine, Kyiv on Wednesday (12/14). Mayor Vitali Klitschko said an explosion was heard following what appeared to be an attack drone or unmanned aircraft.
The news agency reports it AFP extensionWednesday (12/14/2022), for weeks Russia destroyed Ukraine’s energy infrastructure with missiles and drones.
“There has been an explosion in the Shevchenkivsky district of the capital. (Emergency) services are on their way,” Klitschko said on social media early Wednesday morning local time.
It added that air defense systems shot down 10 “Shahed drones” over Kiev and nearby areas, referring to Iranian-made kamikaze drones that Moscow accused of using to attack targets in Ukraine.
Debris from the drone damaged two administrative buildings in Shevchenkivsky district, the capital’s military administration said.
There have so far been no reports of fatalities in this incident.
