An explosive went off in the porch around 7:45 p.m. The porch, which provides access to several homes, was destroyed. According to police, a number of people were present in the street when the explosion went off. No one was injured.
The police explosives unit, together with the Forensic Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department, investigated the complex. This shows that an explosive was thrown into the porch. After the explosion, two suspects walked towards the Kloveniersburgwal and then onto the Nieuwmarkt.
The two suspects have not yet been found, a police spokesperson said. The police are asking witnesses to come forward.
