An explosion took place in the Jules Steursstraat in Deurne on Wednesday evening. No one was injured, but the front door of a house was completely destroyed.

The explosion happened around 10:45 p.m. The Antwerp police established a perimeter. It is not a grenade attack, perhaps unknown people have detonated some kind of heavy fireworks. The house was recently sold.
The exact circumstances and context of the incident are being further investigated. The forensic lab came to the scene for trace evidence. The federal judicial police are conducting further investigations, which may mean investigating a link to the drug environment.
