Explosion at Uralmash Plant in Yekaterinburg: Traces of Explosives Found – Sabotage Suspected

In Yekaterinburg, at the Kalininskaya electrical substation on the night of March 2, from which three defense enterprises, including Uralmash, receive power, an explosion occurred.

According to Russian telegram channels, traces of explosives were found at the scene. A homemade explosive device was previously planted. Now law enforcement officers are finding out who could have brought it to the territory of the electrical substation.

At the same time, in the Anti-Terrorist Commission of the Urals claimthat the explosion was due to an “electrical malfunction.” They added that the incident did not disrupt the energy supply to the districts of the capital of the Middle Urals.

“The electrical equipment of the Kalininskaya substation is operating as normal. There are no casualties. Specialists from the MES of the Urals are working on site,” the message noted.

In turn, Russian blogger and analyst Anatoly Nesmiyan believes that “Ukrainian sabotage” is involved in this.

“Where drones cannot reach, saboteurs now go on foot. In general, launching a SVO (special military operation – that’s what Russia calls the war in Ukraine – UNIAN) against a country with a wealth of experience in guerrilla warfare behind enemy lines was an extremely wise decision. On “The level of genius insight. It seems that the Russian leadership taught history in childhood in the intervals between wrestlers’ training camps and trips to competitions,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
