On October 17, according to foreign media reports,An explosion at a parts factory in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, affected the supply of parts, causing Toyota to suspend vehicle assembly work on a total of 10 production lines at six factories in Aichi and Mie prefectures.

It is reported that the explosion (occurred on October 16) occurred at Chuo Spring’s factory in Aichi Prefecture, which produces automobile suspension coils for many Japanese automobile manufacturers. One employee has been hospitalized and another is being treated for minor injuries. A Chuo Spring spokesman added that police and fire departments were investigating.

Toyota Motor said that the Yoshiwara Plant, Inabe Plant and some production lines of Toyota Auto Body, a subsidiary of Toyota Motor, have been suspended since the evening of October 16, while the Takaoka Plant and The Tsutsumi factory suspended operations on the morning of October 17.
