Explosion at Nabatiye government hospital, patients evacuated

An explosion took place at the government hospital in Nabatiyé on Tuesday evening, according to our correspondent in South Lebanon Mountasser Abdallah. The cause of the explosion has not been determined with certainty. It could have been caused by a gas leak or oxygen, said the director of the hospital, Hassan Wazni to our correspondent.

All of the hospital’s patients, around 150, were evacuated to other facilities.

The sound of the explosion was heard throughout the region and material damage was to be deplored. In videos that have reached L’Orient-Le Jour, we can see that false ceiling plates have collapsed in the hospital. No injuries have been reported so far.
