The authorities in Dâmbovița have activated the Red Intervention Plan.
One person died and eight others were seriously injured in an explosion, Saturday evening, at an LPG station located on DN 1A, in the town of Crevedia, Dâmboviţa county, announces the Infotraffic Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police. Two other people are missing. The authorities in Dâmbovița have activated the Red Intervention Plan.
UPDATE 20:30 The Minister of Health told Digi24 that at least one man died in the explosion in Crevedia. “The situation is ongoing. There are also deaths, I can’t confirm if one or two at the moment. There are about eight victims with burns of varying degrees, one of them with extensive burns is at the Burns Hospital, the others are referred to the hospitals that have burn wards, namely Floreasca and Bagdasar,” said the minister.
Rafila says he is evaluating whether it is necessary to send the burned ones abroad. “Also, we have constituted an emergency working group at the level of the ministry, and the other hospitals that have plastic surgery departments will take care of the patients if their number will be higher,” the Minister of Health said.
“We are examining and will quickly make a decision if it is necessary to transfer some of the patients abroad, because in the event that the intervention capacity is somehow exceeded at the hospitals in Bucharest, considering that there were already many people hospitalized with burns, and I don’t think that it’s time to waste a minute not assisting these people,” he adds.

UPDATE 20.10 The authorities in Dâmboviţa county have activated the Red Intervention Plan following the explosion followed by the fire that occurred on Saturday evening, at an LPG station located on DN 1A, in the town of Crevedia.
“Considering the number of people involved, the Red Intervention Plan has been activated at the county level”, announces the Dâmboviţa Emergency Situations Inspectorate.
Also, considering the large smoke emissions, for the protection of the population in the proximity of the demonstration area, a warning message was sent through the RO-ALERT system.
According to the data previously provided by the ISU, 4 water and foam extinguishing vehicles, a height intervention vehicle, 3 SMURD ambulances and 7 SAJ ambulances went to the scene.
Eight of the injured, with extremely serious burns, are on their way to Bucharest, and two people were reported missing.
In addition to them, according to the mayor of Crevedia, there are 10 more injured.
At the same time, for the protection of the population, the preventive evacuation measure was taken, within a radius of 300m.
Doctors recommend that people stay indoors with closed windows, because the smoke released by hydrocarbons is extremely toxic.
