No one was injured when an explosion went off at the gate of an apartment building in Uppsala, north of Stockholm.

Several callers reported the incident shortly before midnight on Thursday night.
– We go to the address in Librobäck, and there we find that some form of detonation has taken place at the gate of a multi-family house, police spokesperson Pelle Vamstad tells news agency TT.

The police have cordoned off the area to carry out technical investigations, and in addition they are making inquiries. The police spokesperson will not say how many perpetrators they are looking for.
The matter is currently being investigated as an act of public danger. The police believe it is too early to say whether the explosion can be seen in connection with other violent incidents in the Uppsala area.
– Considering the current situation in Region Mitt in 2023, it is of course something we look at and take into account right from the start, says Pelle Vamstad.
