There was an explosion at a gallery flat in Almere this evening. Ten homes next to the apartment have been evacuated due to the damage, reports said Broadcasting Flevoland. No one was injured.

The explosion happened at a residential complex at Bolacaciahof. Police say the entrance to the building was severely damaged. For example, the letterboxes and doorbells were completely blown out of the facade. The residents of the evacuated homes have been temporarily accommodated elsewhere. It is not clear how many residents are involved.

The report about the explosion came in around 7:30 p.m. An eyewitness told the regional broadcaster that many officers in bulletproof vests were present soon after the explosion. The police are investigating the area.

Previous explosions

Earlier this month there were explosions at two homes in Almere. On the night of December 15 to 16, there was an explosion at the Freyjaplantsoen. A night later it happened on the Valetaweg.

In connection with the explosions, the police have arrested three suspects in recent days: two 16-year-old boys from Almere and Amsterdam and a 33-year-old man from Rotterdam.
