Bomb technicians are in place in the Södermalm district in central Stockholm, after an explosion on the night of Tuesday.
A restaurant at Greta Garbo’s square, close to Nytorget, had its entrance destroyed and shards of glass were scattered on the street, writes The evening paper.
– There is damage to the entrance to the restaurant and one floor up on the facade, as well as inside, but it is not particularly extensive, says Ola Österling in the police to the newspaper.
Many people called the emergency services after the incident at 03:28.
The police believe that the restaurant was the target, and have received information from several witnesses.
– Me and my girlfriend were sleeping when we woke up from the bang. The whole house vibrated. When we got down to street level, it smelled burnt, says a woman to the newspaper.
No one should be injured, according to Swedish media.
The police cordoned off an area around the restaurant on Tuesday morning, and have started an investigation.
