Exploring the Unique Features of Dwarf Planet Haumea in the Solar System

INDONESIANS – Haumea is a dwarf planet that inhabits the solar system, its existence in the solitude of the Kuiper Belt. It has a potato-like shape with a shaft at its shortest part, and Haumea is also surrounded by two tiny moons.

Planet Haumea has a whitish blue color, with a unique shape. This form is considered one of the most peculiar members of the solar system. Its own existence is in orbit after Pluto. That means it is very far from the Sun.

The rocky surface of this tiny planet is covered in a thin layer of ice, the planet itself is almost the same length as Pluto. With a day length of only 4 hours, this is because the rotation it has is very fast.

Astronomers suspect that the planet’s oval shape resembles a potato with an axis due to the very fast rotation of this planet, so that it slowly makes this planet like that.

Reporting from Space pedia National Geographic, Haumea has several facts, namely that it has an average distance from the Sun which is 6,582,306,310 km, with the eleventh orbit position from the sun.

In addition, this tiny planet has an equatorial diameter of 1300 km, with a mass of 0.00066. The length of 1 day in Haumea is 3.9 Earth hours, while the length of 1 year is 285 Earth years. With an average surface temperature of -233 degrees Celsius.

Despite its small size, this planet apparently has 2 moons. Of course this is different from Ceres, which has no moon at all.
