Yamaha’s largest main dealer in Sumatra, PT Alfa Scorpii, still keeps old motorbikes that are no longer sold in Indonesia. What are the collections?
Entering the Yamaha dealer PT Alfa Scorpii on Jalan H. Adam Malik, Medan, North Sumatra, Thursday (25/5/2023). Visitors have been greeted with VMAX.
This muscular motorbike has a super powerful engine with a capacity of 1,679 cc with a V-type engine with 200 Ps of power at 9,000 rpm and 166.8 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The VMAX looks muscular with a very manly looking engine shape that features a typical American motorbike design.
Apart from VMAX, the dealer also exhibited four Yamaha RX-King motorbikes. In detik.com’s monitoring at the location, the kilometers are still low, even below 100 kilometers. The models on display include the RX King with the characteristic square lights and the New RX King which uses round lights.
It turns out that all of the motorbikes are restored RX-Kings, and there is good news for those who want to ask for her hand. Because PT Alfa Scorpii sold it to the public.
“Well, the red one (2009) was Rp. 125 million. Because we took it high, we have replaced all of it, even the bolts,” said GM Marketing PT Alfa Scorpii, Joni Lie when met in Medan, North Sumatra, Thursday (25 /5/2023) evening.
“The rest, the blue (RX-King) 2006 costs Rp. 65 million, below that 2005 costs Rp. 35 million, the black 2009 costs Rp. 45 million,” he explained.
Not only RX King, Yamaha Alfa Scorpii also has a collection of F1ZR mopeds. The motorbike is in the showroom area near the RX-King and WR155R. Interestingly, the new odometer record touched 2.6 kilometers. But Jonie said, the F1ZR with the blue and white livery was not for sale.
For information, Yamaha Indonesia made a breakthrough by launching the F1ZR. The next generation of the F1Z. By design, the F1ZR has a sporty shape. From the front to the rear, the body is tapered but still compact, until now it feels like the design has not been bound by time.
Interestingly, the Yamaha Alfa Scorpii also keeps a historic scooter taken from Taiwan, namely the Glide. The 2-stroke automatic motorbike was offered by visitors for Rp. 20 million but was not released.
“If there are two gliders, they are sold if the price is right,” said Jonie.
So, those were some old motorbikes that were seen at the Yamaha Alfa Scorpii dealer. It’s also interesting to be nostalgic for old Yamaha motorcycles here.
