Jakarta – The planet Ceres is a very mysterious place. Now, scientists together with NASA plan to look for a place of life for future humans on this planet.
As reported by Space, Friday 20 October 2023, scientists with NASA have studied data sent by the Dawn space satellite in 2017.
Initially, it discovered organic compounds known as aliphatic molecules near a 32-mile-wide impact crater on the planet Ceres.

“We found that organic material may be more widespread than first reported and it appears that it is more resistant to the impacts of conditions like Planet Ceres,” said Juan Rizos, an astrophysicist at the Instituto de Astropisica de Andalucia in Spain.
Juan Rizos and his colleagues have carried out a series of experiments, the findings of which show a good correlation.
“Even though the origin of organic material is still poorly understood, we now have strong evidence that it formed on the planet Ceres and most likely did so because of the presence of water,” said Rizos.
It is possible that a large reservoir of organic material could be found within the planet Ceres. So, from my point of view, these results increase Ceres’ astrobiological potential.”
