sorae – “R Aquarius” Properties and Structure Observed by Multi-Wavelength Observations

This is the article that sorae introduced on February 11, 2022.R Aquarius]image. It was created using optical observation data from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) “Hubble” Space Telescope and X-ray observation data from NASA’s X-ray Observatory “Chandra”.

R Aquarius is a binary star consisting of a huge red giant star and a compact white dwarf star. It is thought that white dwarfs continue to accumulate gas from the outer layers of red giants, and that explosive nuclear fusion reactions (nova explosions) occur from time to time. It is said that in 1073, it was recorded in Korea that a “guest star”

appeared at the position of R Aquarius.

*…A guest star: A celestial body that appears to appear suddenly.Supernova, nova, comet, etc.
