In our societies, work is a central and evolving experience. This experience is, at the same time, re-configured by capitalism (atomization) and re-invented through various initiatives (collective reappropriation).
At the request of the Brussels Video Center which has developed a website presenting a set of productions on the subject (www.nosfuturs.net), we have produced a “Small critical glossary”. This includes various terms that recur regularly in audiovisual productions: self-management, cooperative, collective intelligence (sociocracy, holacracy… real democracy), liberated enterprise, governance and work. As with any glossary, we have defined them… in our own way!
Each analysis is presented as a mosaic:
two images, a news story, a definition, a quote, an interpretation, a personal story and a possible future.
The texts thus produced can be read together or separately, in one order or another. The links between them are twofold: the form and the structuring are identical each time, and the substance is made up of this double questioning: how to reorganize the work and what meaning to give to the work thus reorganized?
