According to paleoanthropologists, even before humans could speak, they were already singing rhythmically together: music has accompanied Homo sapiens since they existed.
The contemporary music scenes also owe their current vitality to collaborative processes that blur the distinction between composers, musicians and other participating artists. Whether it’s a writer-composer duo or a radical new conception of orchestral hierarchies – every collaboration requires its own individual work process that does justice to the respective constellations and personalities. The artists in this panel discussion on the eve of the Donaueschinger Musiktage report on the sometimes winding path that leads from individual creative voices to a common language.
