A symposium at the Lübeck University of Music from October 20th to 22nd will focus on a special form of noise, namely music. The Lübeck University of Music (MHL) announced that under the title “Sinne|Sinn: Noise – Music – Noise Music” the question should be examined as to how the two differ and when noise becomes music.
The program includes, among other things, thoughts on performance practice, insights from composers and performers into their creative work, the presentation of various playing techniques, sociological classifications as well as pedagogical and mediation aspects.
During the symposium, various installations are also planned in the area around the Great Hall and the Chamber Music Hall, said a spokeswoman for the music college. These include an interactive installation by Marko Ciciliani and works by MHL students.
