EGYPT – Hearing names Lake Qarun , some people may still seem foreign. In history, this place is widely believed to be the location where the cousin of the Prophet Musa was drowned.
Mention lake is taken from the name of someone named Qarun . He is the son of Prophet Moses’ uncle. Qarun is said to be a wealthy man who lived in the time of Prophet Moses. His full name is Qarun bin Yashar bin Qahits bin Lawi bin Ya’qub.

What is Qarun Lake?

Quoting the Daily News Egypt, Lake Qarun is in the southeastern part of Cairo. The place is located in the Fayoum region, an agricultural area which is about 80 km from Cairo.
The Fayoum region itself is widely considered the best place to unwind and find peace. Not only because of the scenery
which is good, but also because of the many interesting monuments and cultural sites.
Looking at history, that part of the lake used to be very wide and almost covered the entire Fayoum area. It was only after the area gradually decreased, that the remaining waters that still survived were known as the Qarun lake.
