From the July 15, Universal TV y Universal + present in Latin America the special “Exploring Oppenheimer”, in which the acclaimed director Christopher Nolan will reveal for the first time what the creation of his new film was like and the reconstruction of one of the most turbulent moments in human history, while conducting an in-depth analysis of the tortuous life of the father of the atomic bomb, Robert Oppenheimer.
This new NBCUniversal special production, “Exploring Oppenheimer” will analyze the cinematographic delivery of Christopher Nolan who in the first person will reveal what it was like to artistically compose the story of Julius Robert Oppenheimer, the legendary and controversial physicist who developed the atomic bomb.

Who was Oppenheimer? The father of the atomic bomb
Robert Oppenheimer, born on April 22, 1904 in New York, was an American scientist who contributed to ending World War II thanks to his creation: the most destructive weapon ever built by mankind, the atomic bomb. Oppenheimer suffered a moral conflict after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Although he had contributed to the development of a powerful weapon that ended the war, he was also reflective of the dire humanitarian consequences of its use. At the same time, he was questioned and accused of being a communist, an accusation that brought him to justice.
Oppenheimer stated in the sacred text of Hinduism, Bhagavad Gita: “I have become death, the destroyer of worlds”. This statement reflected his feeling of regret and responsibility that tormented him until his last days. He passed away on February 18, 1967 at the age of 62. However, his legacy as the father of the atomic bomb and his complicated analogy with science and ethics remain valid to this day.
