Exploring Micron’s Roadmap: GDDR7 and HBM3 Memory Developments in 2023

GDDR7 may be ready next year, and mass production of it may start in 2025.

Micron has outlined its roadmap for the memory market, in which their HBM3 memory coming in 8Hi configuration is featured, but the really interesting developments may take place in the second half of next year. On the one hand, the 36 GB, 12Hi configuration HBM3 development mentioned in the previously linked news can be presented, on the other hand, the GDDR7 memories will also come. Considering the latter standard, the manufacturer predicts effective 32 GHz, 16-24 gigabit memory chips.

In terms of memories intended for the server market, the company uses RDIMM, MRDIMM and CXL formats, obviously with constantly increasing capacity.
