Elite Dangerous It has been growing steadily since 2014. At the beginning of the year 2021, still at a date to be confirmed, a new expansion will arrive that will offer a new perspective of seeing the space. With Elite Dangerous: Odyssey we will can land on the planets we discover, go through them and find flora and other forms of organic life. We will analyze them and extract DNA from their bodies with which to collect a reward.
Not everyone will have the atmosphere adapted for human lifeIn a recent presentation of this expansion we attended, we were shown only two elements of these planets: flora and landforms, but the models of the characters that we will handle when landing were also equipped with weapons. Can we fight the local fauna? Will there be battles against other visitors trying to colonize the planet we have found? No data has been given on these details, insisting on the large number of planets that we will have at our disposal and on what exciting it will be to discover them. That seems to be the core of the experience; at least for now.
The truth is that the experience promises. In the presentation trailer, breathtaking moments with astronauts enjoying beautifully recreated landscapes have been shown. The planets they won’t always be friendly. Not all will have the atmosphere adapted for human life, so the suit we wear will be crucial in the development of this expansion.
There is still a lot of data to know about this content expansion. The worlds shown were beautiful but somewhat empty, will the experience stand alone just by collecting items and charging for them? We’ll know more about Elite Dangerous Odyssey when it launches Steam, PS4 and Xbox One closer: early 2021
