The exhibition reveals the unique approach to art of the artist and painter Artas Butes, which has crystallized over more than thirty years.
The prominent Latvian artist will offer to view amazing paintings that will delight both art critics and viewers.
Bute’s works include references to the past era – Art Nouveau and Art Deco art, the search for which can turn into a special entertainment for the erudite viewer.
The exhibition will feature works created in recent years, as well as several elements of Art’s work inventory and the scenography model he created for the Liepāja theater play “Aija”. J. Jaunsudabins, directed by O. Crowder (1986).
Artis Bute was born in 1958 and he is one of the most prestigious Latvian artists who has gained fame for a long time with his original style and extremely precise execution of his works.
His works attract attention not only in Latvia, but also abroad, and his paintings are in demand in many private collections.
Artis Bute paints both figurative compositions and strongly ornamental and abstract works, observing balance and precision in details.
Although the compositions of his work do not create the illusion of space, they help to express the relationship between foreground, middle ground and background, creating a strong generalized feeling and mood.
Exhibitions “ARTisCOOL!” the works were created on cardboard using acrylic paints and varnish. Each work is precisely executed with bright color contrasts and expressive lines that appeal to and captivate the viewer.
Artis Bute has participated in many exhibitions in Latvia and abroad, and his works are in the collection of the Latvian National Art Museum and in the possession of many private collectors.
He has created a series of personal exhibitions, as well as created scenography for many Latvian theater performances.
Exhibition “ARTisCOOL!” MIKC will be on display in the exhibition hall of the Liepāja Music, Art and Design Secondary School, Alejas Street 18, from September 8 to October 10.
