“May I really touch that?” the little girl asks her mother and points to a beaver that is almost as big as herself. Yes, it can be touched, just like all the other — admittedly stuffed — animals in Haus Ruhrnatur: hedgehog, fox, rabbit and snake. The adventure museum is located in Mülheim an der Ruhr and deals with the residents in, around and on that river. Not only children, but also adults learn exciting facts: Animals live on the second floor of the museum that actually have no place in the Ruhr, but were caught right there – such as a swarm of piranhas.
