City hosts tours in October
Autumn in focus – guided tours and mushroom educational hikes in Düsseldorf parks, in the city forest or in cemeteries

As part of the “Out and About in the Green” series, the city invites you to take guided tours in October. Thematic focus is on autumn – the program includes mushroom educational hikes as well as seasonal events in Düsseldorf parks, the cemetery and the city forest. Interested Düsseldorf residents can register for the tours.

Jürgen Schnieber invites you to a mushroom educational hike through the North Cemetery on Wednesday, October 11th, 4 p.m. The meeting point is the main entrance to the cemetery, Am Nordfriedhof 1. There are no plans to collect edible mushrooms. Dogs are not allowed in the cemetery.

There will be another fungal tour on Friday, October 13th, 3 p.m., with Regina Thebud-Lassak at the Hubbelrath golf course. The excursion starts at the parking lot of the golf club, Bergische Landstrasse 700. There are no plans to collect edible mushrooms. Dogs are not permitted on the tour.

Ana Erika Lemes-Dittrich is offering autumn forest bathing in the Aap Forest on Saturday, October 21st, 1 p.m. The meeting point is the Oberrath stop. Participants are asked to bring a blanket to sit on the floor – as well as drinks and a snack. An empty, clean jam jar is also required. Dogs are not permitted for forest bathing.

“Autumn colors in an unknown inner-city park” is the theme of Claus Lange’s tour of the Malkastenpark on Saturday, October 28th, 3 p.m. The participants meet at the park entrance at the Jacobi House/Painting Box. The tour costs seven euros – this includes entry to the private park.

Registrations required
The number of participants in the events is limited. Prior registration is therefore required by calling 0211-8994800 or by email to [email protected]. The tours cost five euros per person, unless otherwise stated. Participation is free for children up to 14 years of age.

The tours take place in all weathers and last around one and a half to two hours. It is advisable to take part in the tours dressed appropriately for the weather.
