LEEUWARDEN – The talks for a new Board of Provincial Executive for Friesland will enter the second round this week. Explorer Chris Stoffer invites six parties for this. He talks to each of these parties, one by one. Groenlinks is a dropout with 3 seats, while the ChristenUnie can continue with 2 seats in the follow-up talks.
In addition to election winner BBB (14), these are the political parties PvdA (5), CDA (4), FNP (4), VVD (3) and ChristenUnie (2). Stoffer has chosen this after consultation with BBB.
The goal is a stable majority coalition with a large majority in the Provincial Council. Preferably with no more than four parties and with a strong preference for at least 24 seats. A minimum of 22 seats is required for a majority in Parliament.
Stoffer concludes that the six parties can fit together in terms of content. According to him, the programmatic differences that exist can be bridged.
The conversations will also be about mutual trust. BBB has impressed Stoffer that the people who will form the board of GS should feel like a good team together. It is a widely shared wish in Parliament for an administrative agreement to be drawn up in outline, says Stoffer, and not an agreement that has been sealed in detail.
In his first exploratory round, last week, Stoffer held talks with all fourteen parties elected on March 15 in the Provincial Council. He has informed all parties of his findings and the chosen follow-up.
