One person has been found dead by search crews in Østerdalen. According to the police, there is reason to believe that this is the missing skier that has been searched for in Dalsbygda.
There is no suspicion that anything criminal has taken place, the Innlandet police district informs. Relatives have been notified, the police report Twitter.
Bad weather has made the search for the man in his 40s more difficult. He set out on a trip on Saturday morning. The last time anyone was in contact with him was Saturday afternoon. Then he was in the area Falkhøgda.
The search began on Saturday and was resumed on Sunday.
– There was snow and wind of 18 to 29 meters per second, and visibility of about one meter. Now it’s better, said operations manager Atle Bernhoft von Obstfelder in the Innlandet police district to NTB at 6 o’clock on Sunday morning.
During Sunday, the search crew searched for the man in lower terrain. It has also been impossible to deploy a helicopter to search actively in the mountains, the police report Twitter.
