In celebration of World Emoji Day (17 July), now everyone can use any emoji to respond to messages on WhatsApp and make conversations more fun and expressive.
WhatsApp teamed up with Emojipedia, the initiator of World Emoji Day, to explain the meaning of some of the most commonly used but often misunderstood emojis due to their multiple meanings. The following explains the meaning of emoji in the WhatsApp Reactions feature:
1. Melting Face is a new and very popular emoji that leads to sarcasm – when someone seems to be forced to maintain a smile. You can use this emoji when you’re really feeling tired, hot, (like ) or when you’re feeling shy and awkward. However you choose to use this emoji, melting faces are sure to be one of the popular reactions on WhatsApp this summer.
2. Blue hat. In English, this emoji is read as the expression ‘cap’ or ‘capping’ and is used when responding to someone who is lying or being dishonest. If someone responds to your message with this emoji, they most likely feel that you are being dishonest and cannot be trusted.
3. Skull usually expresses the metaphor of death, and is now often used to react to the very humorous message of “die from laughter”. Even though it looks scary at first glance, the skull emoji is deliberately used as an alternative to laughing to crying or laughing out loud.
4. Great Crying and Vomiting It may seem overwhelming at first, but these melodramatic emojis can be used to express positive reactions that are very expressive. Crying Greatly because of being overwhelmed with emotion and joy, and Vomiting because of the feeling of being overwhelmed that comes from joy, surprise, or admiration.
5. Miserably teary face It can be used in many ways as this emoji can give the impression of asking for help, begging, or begging for mercy. Often misunderstood as a symbol of shame, this emoji can also represent expressions of gratitude and feelings of being touched by a loving gesture.
6. A pair of eyes. This emoji is sometimes used to show the hidden meaning behind uploaded messages/content; or ‘sly eyes’ to convey suspicion or surprise.
That was the explanation of the new features in WhatsApp and the meaning of emojis in the React feature, interested in using them?
